Going to jail completely changed Vasavi Kumar’s life. Before then, she was trapped by her addiction for certainty and her need of knowing that everything will be okay. And all that led to bad habits, bad tendencies, and bad behavior. But going to jail changed how Vasavi perceived the world and herself, and since then she’s learned how to break free from the prison of her own mind and wants to help others do the same through social work. Vasavi Kumar is a licensed social worker, special education teacher, and a certified coach. She holds dual Masters degrees in Special Education from Hofstra University and Social Work from Columbia University
